Noel Quadrielle by The Sweetheart Tree

Hi All Stitch and Christmas Lovers!

Thanks for letting me play with you on this great blog. I have finally a finished Christmas stitch to share - these pics are even going onto the AYL Xmas SAL blog before "my own" blog (which is One Stitch Closer to Nirvana, please come and visit anytime - PR - I know, I am shameless...).

This piece is the Noel Quadrielle by Sweetheart Tree. I fell in love with pretty much all the TST quadrielles, but this one was the first (and so far only) one I have stitched.
It comes as a kit with pretty much everything you need, except for the streamers. The instructions are pretty good, so most any level of stitcher should be able to finish it, with just a pinch of patience and daring.
I was a bit surprised that I ran out of one type of beads, but it was the creme ones, so I substituted the missing ones from my stash (not a match, but I doubt that anyone can tell...)
.
Well, I'd better stop babbling and just give you the pics, LOL! Here we go:

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Babs has an ornament!

The stitching on this one has been done, but finishing took awhile. I can't find my felt pieces...ever lost anything in your craft/stash room? Every Christmas fabric just didn't work for me. The green ric- rac is an aged green I found from Nancy. You guys should check her out, assuming my link is working.

My ornament is from Prairie Schooler's Cranberry Christmas, stitched on 32 ct. lambswool with dmc and backed with the fabric you see under it. I don't know I just went wild finishing it. I loved the greens that match both the trees and the ric-rac, the purple bees and I liked the gold/yellow stars.

Anyway, here it is, such as it is :)
hugs,

Babs

There's a reason I'm late....kinda...

I know many of you are probably wondering why I signed up for this wonderful blog when all I have managed is a January ornament~~....Well, I have very good intentions and actually have had my Feb and March stitching done.. But, I wanted the perfect trim...  So, here is February's ornament..
I had stitched up this pattern by L'R de rien back at the end of December....And, when Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe came out with  her hand dyed chenille's, I knew I had to order some and use it on my ornament,,,,

So much that I decided to stitch it again!!!

And, yes, you will see a "10" in the top left corner of each ornament....Since my MIL passed away in 2010, and I want each of my sons to have these ornaments one day, I put "10" on each ornament as a way of honoring her and her love for Christamas.... She would have loved these ornaments also, as she was oh so fond of anything with a redbird on it!!

Well, I promise to not make my April ornament as late as these were....Happy stitching everyone!!

I am so sorry/ no new ornies

I joined the year long ornament blog, but so far, I've had exactly one ornament to show, and I frogged on my PS ornie last night thinking that I'd have it altogether today. Musta' been dreaming or something. So, do I need to un-sub myself right now or wait for ya'll to do it for me? Or do I get one more chance? hugs, Babs

A Very Fast Finish -Joyeux Noel

Yesterday,  we lost our internet and I was so bored.  I found this little pattern saved on my computer.  It's stitched on 14ct white Adia.
This is a free pattern that you can find at http://www.lesgrillesdeliselotte.com/ .  Liselotte has some great patterns that are pretty quick and easy.  I was able to start and finish this in about 2 hours while I was watching a movie.

Winter Cardinal finished by Babs

The picture seems a little washed out, but in order to get the trim anywhere close to its real color, it had to be this way. So this is my January ornie and I'm working on February's.

January Goals?

Hello Christmas Stitchers.....

I just wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing on their January stitching goals.  I've heard many of you say you are going to stitch at least one ornament a month.

It is hard to believe that January is over.  So..............................Did you stitch that ornament for January.
We'd love to see it.

I hope that everyone in the Midwest is hunkered down for the Winter storm in our midst.
Maybe the snow will put you in a Christmas stitchin' mood :-)
Be safe and stay warm,
Diane
